TurSEFF financing supports energy efficiency improvements through process machine replacement in a manufacturing facility in Konya.
Şafak Makina is a company that has been producing more than 2,500 different products for the automotive and tractor main industries since 1955, operating with CNC machining, tube bending machines, forging, and coating support facilities.
The company aimed to achieve production advantages by replacing the process machine, such as increasing dimensional accuracy, shortening operation times, switching from single to double table use, reducing tool change durations, and combining different operations into a single process.
The company carried out the investment with TurSEFF financing blended with a technical assistance package in 2024. During the project implementation, TurSEFF consultants analyzed the project to assess the energy saving potential, financial and technical parameters, and investment risks.
With the €250,000 TurSEFF financing, the investment is expected to result in 975,744 kWh of electricity savings annually. This is expected to significantly reduce the company’s energy costs and enhance its sustainability performance.
This green energy investment is also expected to prevent approximately 302 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent emissions per year, contributing to Türkiye’s climate goals and helping mitigate the adverse effects of climate change.
Türkiye Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (TurSEFF) was developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and is co-funded by the European Union (EU), the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Treasury and Finance (MoTF), and supported by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MoENR).
