TurSEFF financing supports clean energy generation through a rooftop solar power plant installed on a school building in Kocaeli, with PV panels selected from Green Technology Selector (GTS).

The Turkish Education Association (TED) was founded on January 31, 1928, and is the first non-governmental organization in the field of education in Türkiye.

The TED College Rooftop Solar Power Plant project aims to harness the solar energy potential in Başiskele District of Kocaeli Province, located in Türkiye’s Marmara Region.

TED College implemented the investment through TurSEFF. The TurSEFF advised company about alternative and cos-effective ways to realize this investment. Team helped the company in using Green Technology Selector, and to select the optimum pre-approved equipment from the tool.

This 588.6 kWp investment was realized with a €370,309 TurSEFF loan in 2022. The rooftop solar plant is expected to save approximately 431 MWh of electricity annually.

This rooftop solar plant is expected to reduce carbon emissions by up to 224 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent per year and contribute to TED’s sustainability vision while supporting Türkiye’s carbon reduction targets.

Türkiye Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (TurSEFF) was developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and is co-funded by the European Union (EU), the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Treasury and Finance (MoTF), and supported by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MoENR).
