TurSEFF financing supports waste management efficiency and energy savings through a solar sludge drying system.
Terasus Yapı is a company that provides material supply, labor, and consultancy services in the roofing and cladding sector. It has taken part in roofing, siding, and insulation projects across Türkiye, particularly in industrial buildings, public institutions, and social facilities.
In order to manage increasing energy costs and achieve sustainable waste management, the company decided to invest in a low-cost greenhouse-effect solar drying system designed to reduce sludge volume and disposal costs.
In this context, the company partnered with TurSEFF and decided to implement the investment through TurSEFF to benefit from the technical support services offered alongside the financing, including engineering, financial, and marketing consultancy.
The investment was realized with €79,583 TurSEFF financing in 2022. The system is expected to save 11,911 GJ of thermal energy annually and eliminate the need for natural gas usage. This is projected to reduce operating costs and enhance the company’s environmental sustainability performance.
This green energy investment is also expected to prevent approximately 780 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year, thereby contributing to Türkiye’s climate goals and helping to mitigate the negative impacts of climate change.
Türkiye Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (TurSEFF) was developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and is co-funded by the European Union (EU), the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Treasury and Finance (MoTF), and supported by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MoENR).
