Fakhriddin Eshonqulov, a resident of the Navkat village in the city of Istaravshan, was born into a farming family and developed a strong interest in agriculture from an early age. For many years, he has been engaged in cultivating onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers as his primary source of income.
Previously, irrigation relied on a deep well located far from the farmland, leading to significant water losses, additional time consumption, and reduced operational efficiency. To improve water management and increase productivity, a modern irrigation solution was required.
In 2025, following consultations with Humo Bank, the farmer decided to implement a drip irrigation system using green financing under the GEFF II Tajikistan program. On September 1, 2025, he received a loan of TJS 250,000, which was allocated to the installation of the new irrigation system.
As a result of the project, water consumption was significantly reduced, while crop yields increased substantially. The initiative improved the farm’s economic sustainability and contributed to more efficient use of water resources.
According to the client, support from Humo Bank under the GEFF II Tajikistan program played a crucial role in achieving these results. He expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation and plans to continue working with the bank, including the implementation of a future greenhouse project.
