TurSEFF financing supports circular economy and resource efficiency through a packaging solvent recovery system.

Established in 1996, Üçsa Ambalaj operates in Karaman OIZ and produces printed, unprinted and laminated flexible packaging for sectors such as food, beverages, cleaning products and pet food. The company exports to North Africa, Middle East, Europe, America and Turkic Republics.

To reduce raw material consumption and contribute to circular economy practices, the company decided to invest in a solvent recovery plant and renew its existing systems to enable the direct reuse of packaging solvents.

In this context, the company collaborated with TurSEFF and decided to carry out the investment through TurSEFF to benefit from the program’s technical support services, which include engineering, financial, and marketing consultancy.

The investment was realized with €2,872,071 TurSEFF financing in 2022. With the packaging solvent recovery plant and system renewal project, it aims to recover its solvents for direct reuse. The project is expected to save approximately 1,202 tonnes of material per year.

This green investment is also anticipated to contribute to Türkiye’s sustainability targets by promoting responsible resource use and reducing industrial waste, thereby helping to mitigate the environmental impacts of the packaging industry.

Türkiye Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (TurSEFF) was developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and is co-funded by the European Union (EU), the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Treasury and Finance (MoTF), and supported by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MoENR).
