From steam to savings: WashyWash enhances efficiency and sustainability with new ironer.
WashyWash, a leading laundry service in Amman, has cut costs and energy use with support from GEFF and Bank Al Etihad.
The company serves households and businesses across the city and is known for its reliable services and digital booking system, which makes customer service easier and reduces unnecessary trips.
Ironing bed linens and sheets was one of the company’s most expensive and time-consuming tasks. The old steam ironers required several machines to run and consumed large amounts of electricity and fuel. To solve this, the company invested in a professional cylinder-heated ironer.
We assessed the project, confirmed the energy savings, and supported financing through GEFF in partnership with Bank Al Etihad. The company invested US$ 25,770 in the new ironer. Each year, it saves about US$ 2,835 in operating costs and benefits from US$ 2,577 in cashback support from GEFF. The new machine delivers faster output, more consistent quality, and reduces staff workload, improving efficiency across operations. The project also avoids more than 8 tonnes of CO₂ emissions every year, helping the company cut its environmental footprint.
“For us, this project is both a financial and operational win. We can now serve customers better, while making our business greener and more sustainable,” said a representative of WashyWash.
