UniCredit Consumer Financing has re-launched its GEFF-backed personal loans financing product ‘creditul verde fara ipoteca‘ which enables its household customers to buy green technologies such as energy-efficient refrigerators and boilers, small scale renewables like solar panels and home improvement materials like thermal wall insulation and energy-efficient windows.
The UniCredit product is financed from a €15 million loan from EBRD that was agreed in December last year. When the funds have been used, EBRD will reach its target for GEFF of financing €100 million of household green lending in Romania.
The first €85 million EBRD GEFF financing in Romania was used by Banca Transilvania (€40 million), UniCredit Bank (€35 million) and UniCredit Consumer Financing (€10 million) who in total extended more than 5,000 individual credits to household customers including:
