Eligible pre-approved technologies

Household technologies that meet the following performance standards are eligible to appear on the GEFF Technology Selector in Romania:

• Refrigerators and freezers: Energy label A++ or A+++
• Air conditioners: Energy label A++ or A+++
• LED lighting: ≥ 80 lumens/Watt
• Gas boilers: Condensing
• Biomass boilers: Thermal efficiency ≥ 85%
• Hot water cylinders: Energy label A or B
• Termopan windows and doors: U-Value ≤1.3 W/m2K
• Solid insulation and sandwich panels: Thermal conductivity λ ≤ 0.035 W/mK and minimum thickness 10 cm (100 mm). May be thinner if λ is lower and the same R-Value can be achieved.
• Soft insulation: Thermal conductivity λ ≤ 0.040 W/mK. Minimum eligible thickness is only 5 cm (50 mm) because soft insulation is sometimes layered and/or has to fit in confined spaces. A typical home may use 15 cm (150 mm) for the basement and 20 cm (200 mm) for the roof.
• Heat pumps: COP 4.3
• Solar collectors: Solar Keymark (SK) or ≥ 75% efficient if no SK
• Solar PV: Electrical efficiency ≥14%
• Energy metering and control systems such as smart meters, heat meters, water, energy management systems, energy-saving auxiliaries
• Water-saving systems and technologies such container small-size waste water treatment plants, water re-use systems, rain water harvesting systems, water treatment sets, water meters, water saving taps and pressure reduction sets
