Climate Resilience Financing Facility

• US$ 10 million credit line facility from the EBRD to participating financial institutions in Tajikistan for on-lending to private sector businesses, farmers and households investing in climate resilience technologies.
• Overall, the facility’s investments in projects have contributed to saving more than 55575 million kWh of energy and more than 19 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. Total water savings amount to 14 million m3 per year.
• Loans were provided by 5 partner financial institutions: Eskhata Bank, Humo, IMON International, Arvand and the First Microfinance Bank.
•  Borrowers invested in pre-approved technologies, such as insulation, boilers, pumps, solar PV, that meet the high energy efficiency standards from the online Technology Selector.
• Vendors of energy and water efficient technologies were eligible for loans of up to US$ 300 000 for investment, for instance in business expansion, securing working capital, extending better terms to clients and other.
• Advisory services from experts were made available to borrowers and partner financial institutions and included energy assessments, training and marketing support. The advisory aims to support borrowers in selecting the best solutions and implementing their projects.
• The advisory services were funded by the following donors: Climate Investment Funds (CIF), supported by the United Kingdom and the EBRD Early Transition Countries Fund.
