IQ Energy or Ukrainian Residential Energy Efficiency Financing Facility (UREEFF)

• EUR 50 million credit line facility from the EBRD for energy efficiency measures in Ukrainian residential dwellings.
• Loans were provided by 6 partner financial institutions: Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine, OTP Bank, Ukrsibbank, Credit Agricole Bank and Megabank.
• 53,000 households purchased eligible equipment using consumer finance from partner banks under the facility and 43,000 individuals received grant incentives to facilitate their investments.
• 72,596 MWh primary energy saved per annum were achieved through this facility’s investments, resulting in 27,932 ton CO₂ emission reduction per annum.
• Advisory services from technical experts available to borrowers and partner financial institutions were funded by: Swedish International Development Co-operation Agency (SIDA) and the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P) fund for Ukraine.
• Incentives funds were provided by E5P fund for Ukraine with the European Union (EU) being a main contributor.
• This financing supported the purchase of highly energy efficient equipment and materials which were assessed or pre-approved by engineers. Pre-approved technologies were listed on the Green Technology Selector website, featuring insulation materials, energy-efficient windows, biomass boilers, upgraded heat supply systems, and many other measures.
