On 15 April 2026, a seminar and Demo Day titled “Solar Systems for Businesses and Households” was held in Bokhtar, organised by the GEFF II Tajikistan programme in partnership with Humo Bank.
The event took place at a branch of Humo Bank and brought together more than 20 potential sub-borrowers, representatives of GEFF II Tajikistan, the partner bank, and suppliers of solar technologies.
The main objective of the seminar was to raise awareness among participants about the opportunities offered by solar energy, as well as to provide information on available financial instruments to support the adoption of such solutions. As part of the programme, participants were introduced to the key aspects of solar systems, including the principles of electricity generation, core components (solar panels, inverters, and batteries), as well as indicative costs and payback periods.
Special attention was given to the practical benefits of adopting solar technologies for both businesses and households. Participants were also presented with a real-life success case of a sub-borrower, demonstrating the economic efficiency of solar systems through reduced electricity costs.
During the event, representatives of Humo Bank introduced available financing solutions for the purchase and installation of solar systems, including lending terms, application procedures, and eligibility requirements for sub-borrowers.
Technology suppliers showcased their solutions, explained application possibilities, and answered participants’ questions, enabling a better understanding of the selection and implementation of solar systems.
The event concluded with the distribution of commemorative gifts and informal networking during a coffee break, fostering dialogue between clients, suppliers, and financial institutions.
The GEFF II Tajikistan programme is implemented with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Green Climate Fund, the Ministry of Finance of Austria, and the Republic of Korea, contributing to increased access to green finance and the adoption of sustainable energy solutions in the country.
