As part of the GEFF II Tajikistan programme, a series of online seminars on modern irrigation methods and financing opportunities was conducted in February–March 2026.
The events were organized in collaboration with partner financial institutions — Humo Bank, ICB and Arvand Bank — and brought together representatives from head offices, regional branches, credit departments, as well as technical specialists and experts.
During the seminars, participants were introduced to modern irrigation technologies, including drip, sprinkler and subsurface irrigation systems, along with their benefits, cost-efficiency and potential for improving water resource management in the context of climate change.
The practical session was delivered by irrigation expert Umed Sharipov, who shared real-life implementation cases, operational insights, and addressed participants’ questions.
Special attention was also given to financing opportunities for green technologies under GEFF II. Participants gained insights into available financial instruments, enabling partner banks to better advise clients and promote sustainable solutions.
The seminars contribute to raising awareness of modern technologies, strengthening cooperation between financial institutions and technology providers, and expanding access to green finance for farmers and entrepreneurs across Tajikistan.
