GEFF II Tajikistan presents a new edition of its Green Digest, highlighting the programme’s key results and achievements from May to July 2026.
During the reporting period, the programme continued to expand access to green finance and support the adoption of modern energy- and resource-efficient technologies across Tajikistan. Total green financing disbursed reached USD 17.8 million, with 2,276 green sub-loans provided. 85% of the financing was directed to commercial projects, while 773 sub-loans were provided to women.
One of the key highlights of the quarter was the opening of two new GEFF II demonstration sites in the Sughd region.
In Devashtich, the third demonstration site showcases sustainable intensive orchard farming through the use of solar energy, drip irrigation and a geomembrane water reservoir. The one-hectare orchard contains 768 fruit trees, with a survival rate of approximately 98%.
In Kanibadam, the fourth demonstration site demonstrates the practical application of solar energy for business. A 30 kWp solar photovoltaic system, combined with 30 kWh of battery storage, supplied 54% of the company’s electricity demand during the reporting period.
Investments supported by GEFF II are already delivering significant environmental benefits, including annual water savings of approximately 8.9 million m³, primary energy savings of 348,159 GJ, and annual greenhouse gas emission reductions of 12,428 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent.
The new Green Digest provides a snapshot of how green finance is being transformed into practical solutions for businesses, farmers and financial institutions, contributing to more efficient use of resources and a more sustainable future for Tajikistan.
