New Knowledge and New Approaches: GEFF II Training for Arvand Bank Staff in Dushanbe
On April 23, 2025, a training session was held in Dushanbe for employees of Arvand Bank as part of the Green Economy Financing Facility – GEFF II Tajikistan, implemented by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The training aimed to enhance the capacity of bank staff in promoting green technologies and sustainable finance.
Participants received practical training across three core topics: green technologies, green finance marketing, and gender-responsive green financing. This integrated approach equips financial institutions with a deeper understanding of how green solutions can be incorporated into loan products and which communication tools can be used to effectively promote them among clients.
The training was delivered by experts from the GEFF II consultant team, including marketing and communications specialist Zarina Achilova, lead engineer Parvin Jabborov, engineer Farhod Umarov, and gender and environmental expert Takhmina Azizova. Drawing on their hands-on experience, the trainers guided participants through both theory and real-life examples of green lending, allowing for in-depth discussions of practical cases.
The training was organized with financial support from GEFF II donors: the Green Climate Fund, the Federal Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Austria, and the Republic of Korea. Such initiatives enable GEFF II to continue strengthening the capacity of financial institutions in advancing sustainable and inclusive finance across Tajikistan.
