Chagay Plus LLC was founded in 2005 and has grown to become one of the leading suppliers of self-adhesive labels in Uzbekistan. Based in Tashkent, the company provides high-quality label printing services and serves the majority of local food brands. With 97 full-time employees and an annual turnover of approximately UZS 19 billion, Chagay Plus plays a crucial role in Uzbekistan’s packaging and labeling industry. To keep up with increasing demand and expand its product range, the company needed to modernize its equipment and improve production efficiency.

To achieve this, Chagay Plus invested $408,864 in a new iFlex 370 label printing machine. This cutting-edge machine features servo-assisted pre-register and register setting devices, advanced iVision camera technology, and next-generation direct-driven printing transmission, which ensures precision and minimal waste. The investment was financed through the GEFF programme in Uzbekistan, with $401,832 provided as a loan through Joint Stock Commercial Bank “Hamkorbank”. Additionally, the company received free technical assistance from GEFF experts to optimize energy savings and maximize efficiency.

The new label printing machine has led to significant improvements. Energy consumption has been reduced by 24%, saving 47.1 MWh per year. Greenhouse gas emissions have also decreased, reducing CO₂ output by 25 tonnes per year. The company’s production capacity has nearly doubled, increasing from 1.8 million meters of labels per year to 3.56 million meters. The investment has resulted in additional revenue of $86,501 per year, improving financial performance and strengthening Chagay Plus’ competitive position in the market. With a payback period of 4.62 years, the investment is both financially sound and environmentally beneficial.

With the successful implementation of this energy-efficient technology, Chagay Plus LLC is reinforcing its role as a leading provider of high-quality label printing solutions in Uzbekistan while contributing to a more sustainable and resource-efficient economy.

The Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) in Uzbekistan was developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and supported by TaiwanBusiness – EBRD Technical Cooperation Fund, the Federal Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Austria and the EBRD Shareholders Special Fund.
