On October 13 in Tashkent and October 15 in Samarkand, GEFF Uzbekistan and the Business Women’s Association of Uzbekistan “Tadbirkor Ayol” held training sessions on green finance for women entrepreneurs in Tashkent and Samarkand.
More than 40 women entrepreneurs learned how to modernize their enterprises using new energy-efficient and resource-saving technologies, as well as how to access financing for implementing such solutions.
The sessions were delivered by consultants of the GEFF Uzbekistan programme and representatives of partner banks – Hamkorbank, Ipoteka Bank, and Ipak Yuli Bank.
Key topics included:
• Principles of green finance and their importance for women entrepreneurs.
• Opportunities and financial products offered by GEFF partner banks.
• Preparation of effective loan applications and business plans.
• Dialogue between women entrepreneurs and banks to improve access to green financing.
Participants expressed their gratitude for the knowledge gained and noted that the training helped them better understand the opportunities available through green finance and the products of partner banks. Bank representatives also found it valuable to hear directly from women entrepreneurs about their needs and perspectives, which will help them improve their approach to working with this client segment.
