Modern equipment reduced energy consumption and improved eye treatment quality

The medical service provider ‘Hojiakbar-Besh’ LLC owns and operates the clinic ProfiMed in the Mirabad district of Tashkent city. The company was founded in 2009 and provides a full range of ophthalmological, dental and other medical services in the Mirabad district of Tashkent city. The services of the ophthalmological department of the clinic comprise diagnostics and various treatments, which are provided to around 3,840 patients per year.
The clinic conducts an active policy for the introduction of new and energy-efficient medical technologies, in particular in the field of ophthalmology. More than 75% of the equipment used is new and modern, some equipment (for example equipment for checking the lateral vision of patients) is unique to Uzbekistan.
In line with this policy and to further improve the quality of its service spectrum, the company invested in the purchase and installation of a modern (5th generation) excimer gas laser system WaveLight EX500 complemented by auxiliary equipment and a stand-alone operating table. The specific energy consumption of the new excimer gas laser system is 40% lower than that of the old system. The new system requires only minimal pulse energy, resulting in a compact excimer laser beam source with minimal gas volume. Therefore the cost of nitrogen used in the operation of the new excimer laser reduced to 47% of the old nitrogen bill. The new system also cuts the treatment time per patient in half, which has a very positive impact on the clinic’s cycle time.
The investment was partially financed through a US$ 236,518 GEFF loan. After the successful verification of the project the company is entitled to a grant payment of US$ 23,652.
