(English) Even though Jalal-Abad, located in Southern Kyrgyzstan, is not the coldest region in Kyrgyzstan, temperatures frequently drop below freezing between November and March. Mamalak Kindergarten invested in the thermal improvement of its building to keep its young clients warm. The kindergarten obtained a GEFF loan and invested in the installation of better windows, a new boiler for its heating system and insulated the building walls. As a result, the kindergarten’s energy use has dropped by around 50%.
