Through GEFFs the EBRD provides credit lines to local financial institutions so that they can finance the green investments of a large number of eligible beneficiaries.
The EBRD has channelled over €6 billion to green projects via 188 financial institutions across 29 countries. This has enabled more than 227,000 green investments that collectively, together with funding from our co-financing partners, avoid almost 9.9 million tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
Our Green Economy Financing Facilities (GEFFs) support businesses and home owners to invest in green technologies. Since the launch of this financing instrument, and with the support of donors, the EBRD has distributed over €6 billion via 188 participating financial institutions to support more than 227,000 green investments across 29 countries. Together with funding from our co-financing partners to date, the GEFFs avoid almost 9.9 million tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
GEFF goes beyond providing simple lines of finance. An experienced EBRD team of bankers and technical programme managers ensures consistent quality and innovation in the GEFF product and service delivery. In addition, advisory services are available to help participating financial institutions and their clients enhance their market practices.
This helps GEFFs demonstrate the benefits of green economy investments and how to turn green projects into sound investments.
