Namai Vake, a residential complex in Tbilisi developed by the BI Group, has recently earned the EBRD GEFF A Class assessment, marking a noteworthy achievement in efficiency and sustainability. Away from the hustle of the city, Namai Vake champions eco-friendly living, and is the first development of its kind in Georgia to receive this coveted rating. Introduced by GEFF in Georgia, the assessment allows development companies to showcase their commitment to sustainability, attracting environmentally conscious tenants, investors, and partners.
GEFF has been a significant player in Georgia’s construction sector since 2019, financing projects with a minimum 20% energy efficiency focus. In a new initiative, GEFF is providing building assessment documents for qualifying projects, emphasising sustainability commitments. The assessment is conducted by GEFF’s international experts and is free of charge. Buildings assessed by GEFF offer lower utility costs, improved indoor quality, and higher resale values. The initiative benefits developers by enhancing their public image and competitiveness in an era where eco-friendly practices are valued.
The tangible impact of Namai Vake’s commitment is clear, with projections indicating annual energy savings of 1,541 MWh and a reduction of up to 294 tonnes of CO2 emissions. The solar power station, a key feature of Namai Vake, is anticipated to cover approximately 70% of the building’s energy needs.
Looking ahead, Namai Vake remains dedicated to sustainability and innovation. The GEFF assessment is a catalyst for future progress, with the complex now aiming for EDGE certification.
