Within its strategy to promote Green Economy Financing Opportunities in the Agriculture, Commerce and Industry sectors”, GEFF Lebanon and Bank Audi started a series of workshops in collaboration with the Regional Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Lebanon. The first workshop was held on April 23rd,2019 in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce, industry and Agriculture in Sidon and South Lebanon. The workshop started with the Lebanese National Anthem, followed by a welcoming note by the President of the CCIAS, Mr. Mohamad Saleh who emphasized the role of the chamber and its commitment to promote innovative concepts; Dr. Mohammed Haidar, GEFF project manager presented the different EBRD financing schemes, starting with the Green Economy Financing Facility- GEFF Lebanon. The Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation- LCEC represented by Ms. Melda Jabbour tackled the different projects executed as well as the LCEC’s role in GEFF. Bank Audi had an intervention by Ms. Hania Kaddoura, Head of Saida Credit Business Center, followed by a full presentation of GEFF eligibility and loan modalities by GEFF team. Participants from major industries, agriculture and commerce entities in the south attended and took part through various inquiries related to green lending. A second workshop is planned on May 3rd,2019 in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture of Tripoli and North Lebanon, other workshops to follow throughout the Lebanese territory.
