Photovoltaic panels Installation

The company Brasseries du Maroc is a Moroccan brewing and malting company of alcoholic beverages created in 1919 by the BGI Group (Brasseries et Glacières Internationales).

Aware of the importance of protecting the environment and reducing its energy bill, the Brasseries du Maroc company planned to make a major investment in the production of electricity from photovoltaic (PV) solar energy at its production unit located in Ain Sebaa industrial zone.

The photovoltaic panels were decided to be installed on the reinforced concrete roof of the storage warehouses and workshops of the manufacturing zone with a total area of 7,580 m2.

By analyzing the new project and the performance of the current production tool, MorSEFF team judged the project to be eligible.

The investment cost is 535 949,57 Euros and it has allowed to save 1,026,042 KWh/year of electrical energy, with an electricity consumption of 7.8 GWh/year instead of 8.8 GWh/year, i.e. a reduction in annual consumption of 11%. Also, GHG emissions were decreased by 632.6 T CO2/Year.

Morocco Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (MorSEFF) was developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in cooperation with the French Agency for Development (AFD), The European Investment Bank and the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) and supported by the European Union and the multi-donor account SEMED.
