Acquisition of a continuous fabric bonding machine
GLIMMER, a company specialized in manufacturing ready-to-wear textile products for women, men, and children, with a production focus on exporting to Europe and the United States. As part of its modernization strategy, GLIMMER sought GEFF II funding and technical assistance for its investment in a continuous fabric bonding machine that replaces an old, energy-consuming machine that was frequently breaking down, and was over 20 years old.
The new 1,600mm-wide fusing machine features a pre-pressure system that considerably improves fusing and eliminates air bubbles, an exit belt to cool the parts controlled by an electro-pneumatic system, a two-colour light to indicate correct fusing conditions, and a touch screen for management and control.
The machine features an intelligent management system that allows it to switch between pre-heating and cooling modes, helping to extend the life of the belts and cylinders. It also boasts a rapid maintenance programme to ensure efficient servicing.
Thanks to this new investment, GLIMMER reduced its annual electricity consumption by 39% and its greenhouse gas emissions by 26.77 teqCO2 each year.
Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) in Morocco is a green economy financing program, implemented by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), will provide financing to Moroccan private enterprises through local financial institution partners. Supported by the European Union (EU), the Green Climate Fund (GCF). It will enable local companies to invest in green technologies, reduce their costs through climate adaptation measures, energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies.
