Western Balkans Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (WeBSEFF)
€35 million credit line facility from the EBRD to participating financial institutions in Serbia under the €117 million regional WebSEFF framework for on-lending to energy efficiency and renewable energy projects, such as stand-alone small scale renewable energy projects, commercial energy efficiency investments, building sector energy efficiency and/or renewable energy investments. Eligible borrowers are private sector (small and medium sized businesses) and public sector (municipalities, public enterprises, ESCO companies). WeBSEFF participating countries are Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Croatia.
Investments in projects have contributed to energy savings of around 777 GWh per year.
Loans were provided by 12partner financial institutions: Banca Intesa, Komercijalna banka, UniCredit Bank, Société Generale Bank, Raiffeisen Bank, UniCredit Bank, Ohridska banka, NLB Tutunska banka, Halkbank, Zagrebacka banka, Erste Bank and Privredna banka Zagreb.
Advisory services from experts were made available to borrowers and partner financial institutions and included energy assessments, training and marketing support. The advisory aims to support borrowers in selecting the best solutions and implementing their projects.
