The workshop “ESG and Effective Water Resources Management for SMEs” was held in Bishkek on April 8, 2024.
The organizer was the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Kyrgyzstan (EBRD).
The event gathered owners and managers of manufacturing, processing, hospitality and other enterprises interested in sustainability and ESG principles.
ESG – environmental, social, governance – represents the principles of responsibility to society and the environment assumed by business. Economic benefit is combined with social responsibility and care for nature, which contributes to the sustainable development of companies.
The workshop provided an overview of the main aspects of ESG, which helps businesses become more environmentally responsible. Participants also received a free business diagnostic from a water expert.
Nurzat Abdyrasulova, manager of KyrSEFF, spoke about EBRD green finance opportunities and successful practices of implementing energy efficient and resource saving technologies among the program’s clients.
