The Sustainable Energy Financing Facility Program (KyrSEFF) was presented on November 23, 2022 at the first Green Investment Forum in Kyrgyzstan.
This event was held by Doscredobank together with the GIP Regional Office for Central Asia, the AIFC Green Finance Center and GFC Bishkek.
KyrSEFF Project Manager Nurzat Abdyrasulova spoke at the panel session “Tools for Sustainable Finance” and presented the experience of KyrSEFF, achievements, and final results since 2013 in Kyrgyzstan.
The EBRD Regional Director for Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, Ayten Rustamova, also noted that the third phase of KyrSEFF will soon begin with a financing portfolio of up to US$ 50 million to local financial institutions that meet the requirements for the issuance of “green” investments with an emphasis on gender-sensitive solutions.
The forum also discussed the climate crisis and its mitigation, standards for sustainable financing, green banking, sustainable development tools, and the importance of moving to ESG principles.
