The EBRD Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) organized the first meeting in Peja with vendors that offer energy efficient technologies and materials.
Vendors in the region of Peja have clearly recognized the benefits of working under GEFF as this is one of the most active regions when it comes to investments in energy efficient technologies. EBRD GEFF team organized a workshop with vendors to inform them on the progress and shared that, so far, the program reached 185 families and executed over 1.2 million EUR of verified investments in green technologies. Consequently, registered vendors also benefited as the funds were used to purchase eligible technologies from them.
During the workshop, it was discussed how the process of facilitating loan applications could be made even simpler for citizens so that the purchases are done quickly, resulting in a faster turnover for the vendors.
The main goal of EBRF GEFF is to help households to increase the level of energy efficiency by reducing the CO2 emissions and increasing the comfort of their homes. In this challenging endeavor, EBRD GEFF’s main partners are the vendors registered on the Technology Selector and Partner Financial Institutions – TEB Banka, KRK and AFK.
Representatives of financial institutions, also took part in the workshop and informed the vendors that the demand for loans for registered technologies is very high due to a grant of 15% or 20% of the loan amount (depending on the technologies being invested). Colleagues were pleased to emphasize that they are happy their institutions are partners of the program as these investments provide better living conditions and contribute to the creation of a healthier environment for Kosovo’s citizens.
In the upcoming period, EBRD GEFF will organize similar events in other towns in Kosovo.
